MSP is a pioneering research effort for engaging STEM faculty in the change process. We have learned valuable lessons from many MSP projects in terms of effective practices in attracting and engaging STEM faculty. Beyond stipend and release time, we found intellectual benefits to participating faculty as many come away with different perspectives about teaching and learning. Some voiced the need for higher education professional development as a result of their participation in the MSP. The case studies also highlight the importance and challenge in changing the IHE culture. We will present findings and invite discussion regarding what has been learned about STEM faculty motivation and engagement across the course of this research.
